I am surprised to see that this is still an issue, given the rise of
consultants and smaller shops. If anyone has a workaround until MSFT deals
with this, I will be very grateful:
Some meetings in my calendar get scheduled through a meeting invitation. In
come cases, I have a client log in at client sites- others come over the web.
Other meetings I enter manually on the calendar- pretty standard.
The problem is that I enter the meeting based on the local time I will be in
when it takes place. For example. I live in central time zone. I spoke to
a client in London today and we set a meeting there for next week for 9 AM.
When that day arrives, I will be in London. So I either have to remember to
set the meeting for 3 AM in my file so that I can change time zones on my PC-
OR I have to remember that everything set through exchange or meeting
invitations will not adjust to local time.
This makes an orderly calendar practically impossible. I would LOVE to see
MSFT add the ability to set travel into the calendar. Perhaps an all day
event type or other way to tell Outlook what time zone I will be in when the
meeting happens.
As it is, the system does the work fine. But the minutes I get up from my
desk and cross a time zone boundary, I am better off with paper. Anyone have
an idea, tool or workaround for this?
Thanks
