Exclude directory/files from search

I'm using FP-2000 & 2002 extensions and just tried my first attempt at
created/including a search form. However to my surprise a lot of the "hits"
included stats since stat folder is located under the public directory.

I've read the newsgroup listing on this subject; however, my host is not the
most cooperative when it comes to moving/renaming the stat's folder or a
solution to exclude the folder. I'm assuming the stat's folder is generated
by the host and not a function of FP (not listed in the local FP
directories). The host tech support indicates renaming the directory on the
host to "_stat" will cause a problem such that the stat's collection will no
longer work. One "solution" they offered was to put a password on the
directory; however, although I haven't tried it I've got to believe everytime
someone does a search they will get a pop-up security log-in dialog box; (not
exactly an acceptable solution).

Is there a way I can within FP to exclude a directory or files. For example
can I created a list of pages or files that will use to exclude from the
search?

Thanks
Jim T.

Does the web host support subwebs / subsite? If so, then open the site in FP, right click on the
folder and select convert to web / site.
