During Office 2007 custom installation, I choose to exclude Windows
Sharepoint Services (we don't use sharepoint). Unfortunately even though I've
disabled wss in installer, it always been installed.

At first I thought that something goes wrong with my setup thus I've
installed Vista Business + Office 2007 from scratch on a brand new machine.
Unfortunately that didn't help.

My next thought was that wss was a necessary dependency for other Office
packages so I've started removing packages one by one. Only after removed
Excel, WSS was also uninstalled successfully.

Is it a really a dependency issue? In any case I think that is a bug.
Installer should notify users if they removed a necessary package.

I know that Excel has some features that are closely tied to Sharepoint
(data querying, etc.). You might want to post to one of the Excel
newsgroups if you don't get a resopnse here. I'd be surprised if Access
didn't behave the same way, but perhaps it's a bit more graceful.

Thanks for the answer, mezzodiva.
Seems that nobody here in this n/g has experienced this issue.
I will post a question to Excel newsgroups.
