Exclusive Access

I designed my database and everything looks great. Now, I
want to make some minor changes to the form; however, when
I go to do that, a window pops up and says I don't have
exclusive access to change anything and if changes are
made, it won't occur.

How can I undo this?

Hi Mary,
You must open the database Exclusively to make any design
changes to the form - if there are other users using the
database.

Even if you do not have other users on your network that
are using the machine, at times the Locking Database
(.ldb) file is not deleted if Access shuts down in an
unexpected manner.

Normally, the error message you received is associated
with a multiple user environment, e.g. network... If this
is the case, all it means is more than one person is
accessing the database at the same time... This problem is
solved by having only one person open the object/file, at
any given time...

Not at all... it simply means the database was not opened "for exclusive
use" whether in a single-user or a multi-user environment. That is one of
the options for opening Access itself.

Just because you are the only user who has the DB open does NOT mean that
you have exclusive use.
