exel does not open document

When i open exel document the program opens blank. I have to go to files and
click open and point out to a specific file. This happened recently. Anyone
knows why, and how to fix it? thanks.

From the Excel menu choose Tools/Options/General and make sure the
"Ignore other applications" checkbox is not checked.
