Exhange 2003 - Entourage 2008 / Folders gone....no way to bring themback

In a Exchange 2003 (Spanish) enviroment, I am using a MacBook Pro using
Entoruage 2008 (English, machine running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard). It was
working fine until a short while ago. Now the Exchange and entourage client
get connected, but I am not able to see the folders or send emails anymore
(I keep receving a warning that logon credentials (user or password) are
incorrect, but they are right because I connect to the domain controler).

Any ideas on what to look or how to fix this ?

Unless the password is actually incorrect, or something has changed on
the server, you can try the following:
Select the root of you Exchange account on the list in the left, then
Ctrl-click to get to the properties of the accounts.
From there, you should be able to clear the Exchange cache.
It might do the trick...

Thanks. I did try it. It did not work. Logon Credentials are ok. I tried in
a Windows Workstation. Exchange folders and messages are there.

Are you using Entourage EWS or the regular version?
The Windows machine might be accessing the server through a different
protocol than you are, so it's not necessarily indicative that
everything is fine.
Does anybody else have issues with Entourage on this server? Any chance
the admin might have changed something?

I asked admin about, they say they did not change anything. Nobody to my
knowledge is facing same issue. I do not know the difference between EWS and
regular, so I assume I am using regular.

EWS stands for Exchange Web Access. It's a different protocol used to
connect to Exchange and it allows for a range of features previously
out of reach for us.
If you have an Exchange 2007 server (up to date), then you can download
a specific udpater from the Mactopia website that will transform your
version into the EWS one.
It will *not* work anymore with previous versions of Exchange though.

If your server matches the specifications, it might be well worth the effort.

Thanks...it looks I ran out of luck. Our site is running on MS Server 2003.

Thanks anyway, it was good while it last....it was a mistery how it just
stoped working

Vicente,

Did you empty the cache for the entire account? Right-click on your
Exchange account at the top of the folder list in the left column of the
window and select Folder Properties and then click the Empty button. It may
take 5-20 minutes to resync with Exchange. I select the Window menu and
Progress to monitor what is happening.

If that does not work:

Create a new identity in Entourage (Entourage menu/Switch Identity...) and
set up your Exchange account in it. If the new identity works, you can
continue using the new identity. If you want local email, etc from the old
identity, you will need to switch back to your old identity and use Export
to save data and then switch again to the new identity and use Entourage
menu/Import.
