Existing Letterhead

I created a letterhead first sheet and saved it as a template and would like
to know if it's possible to "anchor" all the formatting and text so that it
cannot be changed (just like using hard copy and typing on it). Right now
anyone who uses it has to watch that they don't change the formatting and
frankly only one person other than me in my small office is "Word savvy".
Any suggestions? Is it possible and if so, how do I do it?

Thanks in advance
Pat

My apologies if this comes through twice. Something glitched the first time.
Below is what I wrote out for a friend (who needed precise instructions) as
to how I made my letterhead. It may be helpful to you.

1. WORD 2003, New Blank Document

2. View – Header and Footer

3. This gives you the “Header†box with the cursor blinking. If you want an
automatic second page for a long letter, you need to make page two first, so
this is when I created page 2 setup as follows:

4. Insert right-aligned tab – Page #, italics, size 9. (If intending this
letterhead template to be used in mail merging, don’t set numbering Page # of
#, make it Page # only).

5. Optional for design purposes only: Insert line (line icon on Draw
Toolbar) to drag a horizontal line into position under your Page #. While
line still selected, Format, AutoShapes, changed colour, style, width etc.

6. Optional for design purposes only: Copy same line, switch to Footer to
position at bottom margin of page.

7. On Header/Footer (floating) toolbar, click on the PageSetup Icon (looks
like an open book).

8. On its Layout tab, check “Different first pageâ€, then OK.

9. This results in “First Page Header†box opening with cursor blinking.

10. Inserted a text box, put in LHead text and formatted. Inserted a second
text box, made it transparent, copied the logo picture into it. Formatted
picture to be in front of text.

11. Drew a text box to cover the elements I’d just put in the LHead and
dragged it to shape. Set its layout to “squareâ€, no lines, and “no fillâ€.
This creates a margin-type area at the top which forces the cursor to start
below the LHead where I’d want to type the date for a letter.

12. Closed Header/Footer box.

13. If I wanted to change the 2nd page onwards, turn on Header/Footer
toolbar again, click relevant icon to Show Next (also can Show Previous),
make any changes, Close the Header/Footer box.

14. Save as a template, that is, File/Save As, Save As Type: Word Document
