Hi,
We have implemented rpc over https on our exchange 2003 server. Most users
use it. There seem to be a few glitches, more people have problems shutting
down outlook all the way (versions 2007 and 2003) it checks there .ost quite
when this happens but the positives generally outweigh the negatives and
usually we can track this down to incompatible add-ins or something.
One user however, can't expand distribution lists. I searched on expanding
D/Ls for ages and one day I came up with someone that seemed to have the same
problem and it said it was related to the rpc over http. So, I had our user
un-configure rpc over http and voila, the lists expand ok when not using rpc
over http.
When she is using rpc over http, I had her check connection status of
outlook before and after trying to expand a D/L and the directory was
connected in both cases.
When she tries to expand a D/L, it basically hangs outlook, so I guess when
the connection was checked after expanding, she my have restarted outlook, so
the directory may fail connection after she tries to expand.
This only happens on one user. Others are able, I think anyway, to expand
D/Ls. No one has complained anyway.
While I found someone else that seemed to be having this problem, I did not
find a solution to it. She needs to use rpc over http so un-configuring it
isn't really an option.
Does anyone have any insight as to what could be done to fix the problem
other than un-configuring rpc over http?
thanks
