Expanding dependencies in milestones

I am currently using MSP2003. I would like to know if there's a way I can
see ALL the dependent tasks/resources for a specific milestone. Upon
double-clicking on the milestone, I can see all the predecessors for the
milestone, but I what I would like to see are all the resources that are
attached to those named tasks in the predecessor list. Is there a way to see
this? What I really want to get at is a way to quickly see how the milestone
is progressing at a high level. Also seeing which resource is at risk of
being on a critical path. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Select Window, Split
right click on the lower form and select predecessors and successors

Now you will see both for the selected task in the upper pane.

Hi Rod,

This view shows me what double-clicking on the milestone would show me. It
still doesn't answer the question of which resource is tied to the
predecessor task and when they're supposed to get it done - ultimately,
seeing who's at risk and/or on the critical path.

deluth,
I don't think there is a single or split view that will give what you
want directly but here's an approach that should work. Go to Jack
Dahlgren's MVP webpage at:
http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm
and look for his "Trace Macro". I haven't used the macro but it
basically uses spare Flag5 to mark tasks that are predecessors and/or
successors of a user selected task. It then applies a filter on Flag5.
As long as the Resource Names field is showing on the filtered view, you
should have the information you desire.

Hope this helps.
John
