Expanding drop-down menus

How can I configure Word so that the main drop-down menus (File, Edit, etc.)
expand to their full extent immediately upon opening, instead of showing only
certain items for the first few seconds?

Go to Tools > Customize, click the Options tab of the dialog, and check the
box for "Always show full menus."
