Explorer shell send to mail recipient

Greetings,

How do I configure Outlook XP to send mail from the explorer shell
right-click ->send to mail recipient. It just shows up in the Outbox until
I open Outlook. If I use Outlook Express, it sends immediately. I can just
leave OE as my mail application via Internet Explorer, but I want to avoid
storing sent mail in two different applications, if possible.

PS. My default (only) account is POP/SMTP and I access the internet via lan
gateway exclusively.
