I have a Project plan where some cells in the 2. row holds some information
that I need in a spreadsheet, mandatory in my organisation.

Instead of manual copying the 8 cells each week to Excel, I would like to
automate this process.

Can you advise me how to do it?

As an exemple I need to copy the number 2. row in the column [Number3] i my
project plan to the Excel cell 'MartinsSheet!$B$5' in the Spreadsheet
'Follow-up' placed at my 'c:/Martin' folder.

Fodaftrykket,
There are various ways to export data from Project to Excel. One way of
course is cut and paste but this is tedious and prone to human error. If
you have Project 2007 you could use the Visual Reports feature found
under the Reports menu. For other versions of Project, as long as the
data is single-valued, (i.e. not timescaled), you can use an export map
(Save As and select the "file of type" to be Microsoft Excel Workbook -
a wizard guides you from there).

If the Project file and Excel spreadsheet will always be in the same
directory and folder AND you have a whole lot of discipline, you could
use paste links. Normally however this approach is not recommended
because it exposes the user to file corruption.

In my opinion the best general purpose way to share data between Project
and Excel or vice versa is via VBA. However, this requires knowledge of
VBA and in your described example, VBA probably isn't necessary.

Hope this helps.
