export and import

I backed up my Business Contacts Data from version 1 and it saved it with a
..MSBCM extension - not sure why. I am trying to import the data into
Business Contact Manager version 2 and it will not allow me to do it because
it is looking for
a .BCM file extension. I have tried to rename the file to have a .BCM
extension instead of .MSBCM but it does not work. Can anyone help?

Hi

You can import the same by going to Business Tools > manage database >
restore database .However do note this would overwrite any existing data
that you have any in BCM V2 (so do export the same as a .bcm file).Hope this
helps

..MSBCM files are ZIP compressed MSDE (SQL Server) database backup
files. You can _restore_ those files and recreate the database.

..BCM files are BCM XML files. You can use those files to _import_ data
into an existing BCM database.

You import/export using menu File|Import and Export.

You backup/restore using menu Business Tools|Manage Database.
