Export button grayed out (Access 2003)

We have an Access 2003 db on a network drive, to which we've given
selected users perms to update it directly via the usual Access forms
etc. One user asked me to help her export some data to Excel, so I set
up a test query on the db, and was able to export it as an excel file
uneventfully. I went to her machine, however, and discovered that when
she ran the same query, her export option was grayed out! I wound up
emailing her the excel file, but I don't know why she is unable to
export.

Am I correct in assuming that if she has full access to the network
drive to update this file, there shouldn't be any reasons why this is
happening? There are no perms on the db either. This is the only file
she works with, so rightly or wrongly we didn't try it with another
one.

Any ideas??

TIA

Hi Elaine,

try clicking on the query name without opening it.

does she have a full version of Access? Is she using an MDB (/ACCDB)
file or an MDE(/ACCDE) file?

What version of Access is she running? What service pack is installed?
and you?

Hi Elaine,
try clicking on the query name without opening it.

I'll ask her this, but when I had the query open, it still worked for
me.It also worked if I ran the query from the network drive, or if I
copied it to my hd and did it. I've asked her to try the latter, but
no word back from her yet.
does she have a full version of Access?  Is she using an MDB (/ACCDB)
file or an MDE(/ACCDE) file?

MDB. Not sure what an MDE file is, sorry.
What version of Access is she running?  What service pack is installed?

She has Office 2003 Professional, which is our standard here. I don't
know specifically what SP she has, my guess is that like most of our
users, she is clueless about updating unless it's set to autoupdate
(which it may well be). I'll find out tho.
  and you?

Fully "loaded" :) XP Pro SP3, Access (and Office) 2003 (11.8166.8221)
SP3

I'll see what I can find out from her and post back when I have more
info. Thanks!
