Export Current Background to JPG?

I have a ppt deck that was sent to me which uses a particular custom
background. I need to reproduce the look-and-feel of this deck in custom
Excel dialogue boxes.

While I can open a blank slide and do a print screen to get the image, it's
not going to be as clean as the origional background image. Is there a way to
EXPORT the current background as a usable image file, i.e. JPG?

Unfortunately, this is an older background and noone seems to know where the
origional image is...

Are you using PPT 2007? Go to the View tab, then click on "Slide Master",
then right click on the slide you want and select "Save Background". You can
then save the background as a jpg file.

I don't think this is possible using earlier versions of PPT, but I could be
wrong on that.

You should be able to use Save As... and pick a graphic format. Once you
have done that and named the file, PPT should ask if you want to save all
slides or just the current one. It may still not be at the quality level you
want, but it should be tolerable.

Another option is to use TechSmith's SnagIt to snag the screen at a higher
resolution. Let us know if you want directions on how to do that....

I followed your instructions, but when I right click there is no option to
Save Background, only to format background. Am I doing something wrong?

If all you want is an image file of you PowerPoint back ground. then create
a blank slide with just the back ground, then do a save as and in the Save
as type window, scroll down and select JPG image, then select Current slide.

If you want to have the original image from your background then save your
presentation as an html file, and PowerPoint will extract all the images and
put them into a folder for you.
