Export deadlines to outlook

T

Tom

I am just starting to explore the benefits of using
project in connection with my studies. However, I have
some difficulties in trying to find out how to export
project deadlines to outlook.

The information I have been able to find so fare indicates
this is only possible if you are using Microsoft Office
Project Web Access and I am not using the software as part
of a network solution.

Does anybody have experience that could help me in this
situation?

Thanks.

Tom,
I don't have experience with Outlook but if you just want a reminder of
Project deadlines in Outlook, here is the process:
1. From the Gantt Chart view, select one or more tasks for a reminder
2. Go to View/Toolbars/Workgroup
3. On the Workgroup toolbar, hit the "Bell" icon and set the reminder
options you need.

If you want to track Project work in your Outlook Journal do the
following:
1. From Outlook go to Tools/Options
2. Click the Preferences tab and then Journal Options
3. In the Also record files from list, select the Project check box and
then click OK.

As far as exporting data from Project to Outlook, I understand the
newest version of Project (2003) has that kind of functionality.
However, since Outlook can be accessed from Project through VBA, a macro
can be written to export data for Project 98 and up.

Hope this helps.

You can use Mailsend method in VBA.
ex: mailsend("(e-mail address removed),zz,,zz,activeselection.tasks(i).deadline)
