Export existing Project Data to Excel

S

Sundos Masri

How can I export existing Project data to Excel without having to lose the
formatting of the different cells, as in fonts and especially indents to
distinguish tasks and summary task as well as subtasks? I also want to bring
in the % complete which it does not seen to get exported.

I did do File save as Excel workbook and followed the wizzard but that does
not get me what I need. Any idea. PLease advise.

Thanks

Hello Sundos Masri,

You can modify the data exported in the Export Wizard. Start as you
have with File > Save As, and select Excel as the file type. Do not
choose Project Excel Template, instead choose Selected Data. You
can start with an already made export map and then add fields --such
as the % complete field. The export will not preserve the outline
structure of its own, but you can add the Outline Level field as
part of the export. Then once you have the information in Excel,
use autofiltering to filter for the outline levels and quickly apply
formatting.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
