Export from Excel 2003 to OL2003 problem

Win XP/ Office Pro 2003

I have been importing Excel dbs to OL2003. I have done well over 1000
contacts so far. (I am doing a conversion from an old OS2 Warp/Lotus system
to MS Office Pro 2003) I have been importing them in batches and it has gone
okay so far.

However, today when I tried to import my next batch to OL2003 from Excel it
is not working.
Process = File/Import-Export/Import from another program/okay/Import from
Excel/okay/Choose my xls file to import/allow dups/okay/.....

at this point on my previous imports it would ask me if I want to map
fields, however with this import it goes straight to the screen asking me
where I want to import it to (and not to the mapping screen.) If I click on
the contacts folder I have been exporting to on previous imports I get an
error message:

An error has occurred in the MS Excel translator while getting the contents
of a file system.

The Excel file "..................." has no named ranges. Use Excel to name
the range of data you want to import.

Okay, I am confused. I did not have this error on any other imports. What
does this error mean and why can't I get past it? I am sure it is something
simple but I give up! (I am so far behind on this conversion)

Thanks,
Judy
