export from excel into ascii

Hi, I have UPC code software that will only allow data to be imported
into it's database via ascii (either fixed field or delimited). Is
there a way to get data out of excel for direct importation.
I was able with relative ease to get data into excel via ascii for
modification, but I am having trouble figuring out how to get the
modified data out again so I can put it back into the database.

Exporting is even easier: "Save as.." allows you to save in other file
formats than Excel. CSV is one of them.
