Export from MS Project 2003 to Excel 2007

I'm using the "Save As" option to export a project to Excel. Regardless if I
choose Workbook (Project Excel Template or Selected Data) or Pivot Table I
receive "Operation Failed!" when I export.

Is there a compatibility issue between these versions or am I doing anything
wrong during the export. I have tried to export both linked projects using a
resource pool as well as projects which are not linked and are not using a
resource pool.

No compatibility issues as far as I'm aware, I've just done it. However, if
you have SP3 then make sure under Tools, Options, Security tab you have the
bottom option selected to allow creating and loading legacy file formats,

Hi Rod,

Thank you for a quick reply. I'm using SP2 and is kind of lost about how to
proceed as I can't export anything to Excel 2007.

How would you suggest that I proceed or troubleshoot this further?

Kind regards
Tobias

First try repairing your installation of Project and Office, something is
broken, or some security problem is breaking the link. If repairing
applications does not help, your IT people need to be involved. You could
try uninstalling Office and Project then re-install Office then Project.

Hi Rod,

I tried to repare the Office installation but it didn't solve the problem. I
installed MS Project 2007 and then it worked.

Thanks for you support

Kind regards
Tobias
