Export Grid to Excel error

Using MSP2003/ent

Having errors on "some" systems when trying to export grid to excel, comes
up with an XML error. I checked the site and it is trusted, I also tried to
see what the difference was between the system that worked and didn't work
and couldn't. Has anyone seen this before, is this a know issue, and how do
I setup the users systems so this feature always works? Sorry for the repost
but getting desperate.

Hi Reuter,

the first part I would check is if you are all using the same version of
Excel. The error message you receive typically comes when you use a Version
of Excel that cannot read xml files ( pre-office xp I believe).

Let me know if this is the case.

Hi, we are using the same versions and SP's for (IE & Excel). IE options for
security are setup the same. The box that comes up for me is " VBScript:
Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003; error message- The ActiveX control
on which this feature depends could not be created. Because of this error,
you can only copy the XML data to the Clipboard. Do you want to continue?
(YN). It has to be some setting I'm missing, someone out there has to have
seen this issue.

I fixed this issue and wanted to post on how, maybe it will help someone.
Here's what I did:
1) Close all instances of IE
2) Search for the windows folder %systemroot%\downloaded Program Files
3) Delete Pj11enuC and PjAdoInfo3
4) Launch PWA again and re-download the controls (re-excepting the license
agreements)

This fixed my ActiveX issue; I can now export Grid to Excel.
