Export issue

S

SHIPP

I am running a macro to export data.

Transfer Type: Export Fixed Width
Specification Name: Dos Export Spec
Table Name: Route Set Dos I
File Name: mk.sdf
Has Field Names: No

Access 97 has no problem running this macro. However, when I converted it to
2003 the macro does not run. The error message I receive is

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

If I change the extension on the file name to .txt it runs in Access 2003.
But with an extension of .sdf it does not. Does anybody know why? Any help is
greatly appreciated.

For security reasons, newer versions of ACCESS will not import or export
(via TransferText) text files with nonstandard files extensions -- the only
file extensions that can be used for text files for ACCESS to import them
are ".txt", ".csv", ".tab", and ".asc". To handle a ".sdf" file extension,
see these Knowledge Base articles:

Have a Valid File Name Extension

(The renaming of the file is the preferred method.)
