Hi there, hope you guys can help.
I have a colleague who has moved to the UK from Japan and he has an old
Japanese language laptop.
I'm replacing his laptop with a new one (English install of windows and
office) and I'm trying to import all his old Japanese emails into Outlook 2003
He uses Outlook Express 6 on his old laptop and I'm using the export feature
to export his emails then import them into Outlook 2003.
The problem I'm having is once they are imported into Outlook 2003 they
appear as strange characters (mainly greek) and not the Japanese Kanji type
characters I would expect.
I have enabled Japanese language support on the OS (WinXP) and have
installed additional Japanese language packs etc...and although he can write
new emails in Japanese and use things like IE, Notepad, Word etc. in Japanese
these old imported emails just won't display the correct characters.
Does anyone have any advice or guidance?
Many thanks
Steve
