I have a Word for Mac that by printing as pdf file it breaks the file according the page setup. If the file has a landscape setup ,Word breaks the pdf file everytime it finds a landscape page.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain.
You can open them in Preview under Leopard, display the thumbnail for
the pages there and drag them from one file to the other. It will
efficiently combine the PDFs.

The problem is that the PDF converters - as do many printers - errantly
handle section breaks in a Word document... Especially if the breaks involve
changes to Orientation or Margin settings. This is a long-standing issue for
which there is no direct solution.

The best workaround is to accept the "broken" PDF then use one of the
[plentiful & free/shareware] programs to combine the separate PDFs into one.

Would you know why I can't print my document to a PDF? See another
thread with this question, as yet unanswered. Thanks!

Have you tried to save a document as PDF in Office2008?

You no longer use PdfMaker, nor do you use the Apple Print Menu.

After you have save a docx version of the document. Go to *Save As*

and mouse down the menu choices until you get to Pdf.

Its seems That MS has come up with there own PDF Converter.

I know for a fact because I have tried it out, and That inserted Page
Breaks now work. I had a copy of the Bylaws to my Association and
previously I had to insert returns to make text fall on correct pages
even after converted to PDF and not to have to stitch the documents
together. I removed all the excess returns and used this and had no
problems.

Its fast as well. I hope they never go back to supporting PDFMaker.
Using it was a slow as a slug crawling.

Try something and report back with findings. I didn't try section Breaks
though.

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!

Hi Stephen -

There is a reply to your other post. Keep in mind that this is a
*newsgroup*, not any kind of support "hotline". It may take hours for your
message to appear... Maybe longer. And it may take equally as long for a
response to show up.

BTW - "Hijacking" other threads *isn't* the way to gain favorable or
positive attention, especially when you're using a totally different
configuration & have a completely different issue :)

Please confine your replies to the thread you previously started.
