I have an application developed in Access 2000, to be distributed as
an MDE. For those folks without Access, they install the free Access
2007 runtime. For the most part, this seems to be working well.
However, when viewing a report in Preview mode, if you right-click and
select the "Export" option (I have defined a custom menu which
includes the standard "export" option), when using the runtime you
immediately get an error, which says, "you tried to perform an
operation involving a function or feature that was not installed in
this version".
Now, I know from some research that Access 2007 no longer supports
exporting a report in Excel format, but this error comes up before you
even try to choose a format. It works fine under the full version of
2000 and 2002, but not the runtime.
Any ideas why this is, and if there is any way to fix or get around
it?
Thanks,
Tim
