export / save as - default to rtf in access?

We just moved to office 2003 and one of the major complaints from everyone is that in office 2000 they could save as rtf format when exporting from access then during that access session it would stay on rtf format for all other exports. In office 2003 this doesn't stay set to rtf. Export something, change the save as to rtf, save it, then go to export something else in the same session of access and you have to change it to rtf again.

Is there anyway to change this behavior so it works like it use to?
