Export to AutoCAD from Visio 2002 Pro SP2

The documentation says I can export in AutoCAD .dwg format. It also talks
about profiles and filters in connection with this.

I need to pass a simple Visio drawing to a company that uses AutoCAD.

When I try the Save As and select .dwg, the file is saved. But it I try to
open the .dwg file in with Visio, I get a single complex shape that does NOT
include my whole drawing. Since I don't have AutoCAD, I have no way of
knowing whether what I see is because of the way Visio saved the .dwg file
or when Visio opened the .dwg file.

The help talks about filter setup and output options, saying that these MAY
appear when I try to export. But I see neither of these.

Am I missing something? Yes, certainly. But what and where?

Thanks for your ideas.

Visio 2002 only displays the last saved view for a DWG file, so that may
explain what you are seeing. I don't have Visio 2002 handy to test, but I'm
pretty sure Visio saves out the entire diagram.

I'm not sure what the reference to filter and output options is about.
Probably the help is generically referring to exporting from Visio. There
are other export formats such as GIF or JPEG where these options do appear.
