Export to Excel Not Available

I'm trying to understand why th eoption to export to excel is greyed out
under the External Data tab, but I can right click on a query and tell it to
export to excel. I know I've used this in the past with this same query, so
I don't understand why the option is no longer avavilable.

Just a wild guess, but are you using MS Access 2007?!

The "export-this-report-to-Excel" is no longer available (something about
settlement on a lawsuit or ...?).

Yes, you can export a query to Excel, just not the report.
