When you click on Export Grid to Excel link, Microsoft Office Excel 2003
is launched and the data is copied in XML format to a spreadsheet. Just
Save As Microsoft Office Excel Workbook (*.xls) then you're done.

Good Luck

I have a question:
I've seen where upon selecting 'export grid to excel' a dialog box which
states that the activex control could not be made. Any idea what causes this?

Here's the solution:

You have to add the name of your local Project server to your list of
"Trusted Sites" in Internet Explorer. Once you do that the function will
work properly.

Hey,

I have our Project Server listed in the "Trusted Sites" in IE. Also, I
have every ActiveX control selection set to "Enable" for the Custom
Level security settings. Even with these settings, I still receive
the following error messages when click on Export Grid to Excel from
the Project Center in PWA:

An error occurred while exporting the grid data to Excel.
Because of this error, you can only copy the XML data to the Clipboard.
Do you want to continue?

When I receive this message, Excel opens and populates the spreadsheet
with project data.

I can certainly live with saving the file as .xls and moving on, but
our CIO is using the Export Grid to Excel link. How do I resolve this
so the export is seamless?

HELP!?!
