Hi,
i have two questions:
1. if i export a query/table to a text file, how can i
remove the grid lines that access adds?
2. if i export a report to a text file, how can i prevent
the empty lines between records and pages?

Thanks!

Grid lines? ACCESS doesn't export grid lines to a text file. And am not sure
of what you mean by empty lines between records and pages?

Can you post some examples of what you're seeing and doing?

Hi Ken,

When i export a table/query/form to text file, (not the
export wizard) it adds grid line to the columns.
by using the export wizard, i can set more options. but,
i need to add a few groupings, so i prefere to export
data from the reports, the problem is, when i export the
report, the wizards is not opened, and the text output
has blank rows between records. i solved that problem by
setting the font on the report to a very small one. but i
still have the problem, where the reports margins (top
and bottom) still look as blank rows in the text file.
when i try to set the margins to 0, it reset itself.
can you assist?

thanks

Exporting from a report is going to give you more than just the data and
records; it's going to give you extra stuff. Don't use the report as the
source of the export.

I have never seen these "grid lines" of which you write. ACCESS exports only
data and delimiters when you export from a table or query. Can you describe
what you mean by "grid lines"?

when you export a file, and mark the "same formatted"
check box in the export dialog box, you get a text file
output, with grid lines, how can iprevent it?

Don't check the Save as Formatted box. Then you'll get a delimited text file
as the output.
