I'm trying to export a table to XML. When I pick File/Export and select
xml format, it produces a file with
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
at the top. When I try to read that file using an external XML reader, I
get an error message to the effect that the file contains illegal
control characters, for example, code 14.
A manual examination of the file shows that it does contain characters
that are not allowed in UTF-8 encoded files. So it appears that there is
a bug in the Access export function.
What's the workaround?
I'm using Access 2003 (11.8166.8202) SP3.
