Export wizard doesn't run

P

Palma

Hello,
I'm trying to export a query into a fixed format text file.
In the past the export text wizard would come up and I
would choose <advanced> button to set up my specification.

However, Access 2000 has been reinstalled on my machine
and the wizard no longer appears when I export. I have
tried reinstalling access, but it appears that all the
wizards and advanced wizards have been installed. How do I
get the export text wizard to come up?

Alternatively, I tried to create the same text file by
creating a schema.ini in the folder of my .mdb. I then
run the docmd.TransferText method and leave out the second
argument, but that doesn't work either. I get the message
that Jet can't find the object "carrier.txt" , the value
of my fourth argument.

Please help
Thanks Palma

Hi,

If your text wizard isn't appearing correctly then you may be having a
problem with the actual wizard files on the machine. Try the following:

1) Search the machine for accwiz.dll;regsvr32.exe
2) Highlight the accwiz.dll. Drag and drop it onto the regsvr32.exe
3) Test the wizard and see if it displays correctly.

If the above steps do not work, then you may want to rename the wizard
files and complete a repair of the Office installation. The wizard files
are: Acwzmain.mde, Acwztool.mde, Acwzlib.mde, Acwzusr.mdt.

If all of the wizards are failing, then you may be experiencing the problem
outlined in:

Wizard

Hope this helps!

Thank you,
