Exporting a List to Excel Problem

Several users are getting the following error:

To export a list, you must have a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible
application

When trying to export a project list to Excel XP.

Has anyone else seen this???

Assuming you are using Project Serve 2007, I believe your users need to be
using either Excel 2003 or 2007 in order to export to Excel. If I am wrong
about this, however, I will gladly invite someone to correct me. Hope this
helps.

Further to Dale's comment, Excel 2003 is part of the Office XP branding, so
it would appear that you have the right application. Make sure that there
is no office 2000 application on your sysytem, make sure the default for
opening xls files is Excel 2003. This must be a PC related issue rather than
Project Server.
