Exporting a report to Excel

Report Specs:
1500 records
page is about 21 inches wide (hence the export to excel)

This report needs to go to another company for processing and they want it
in an Excel format. Using Access I put together a process to grab our data
fom AccPac and to clean and sort it in Access. I am working with a report
and want to export it into Excel. Under the report preview is a nifty
button to do so.
Everything exports perfectly except one item code (and it is always the same
one).
230-003 becomes -609894.

Any ideas?
