Brian Tillman,
I do acknowledge your expertise with this program, but what I have stated
also is a valid process, based upon numerous successes I have had using this
method personally.
My reply to johnnie2130's OP, was for the basic transferring of contact
information from MS Outlook, to other Mail programs, using a *.CSV file. He
mentioned he was not sure if he was going to use MS Outlook, Outlook
Express, an ISP/Mail service webmail interface's address book, or another
mail application.
This was stated in the first paragraph in my reply. But
this method can be used for moving contact information from Outlook to
Outlook, but it is not the preferred way. Also a *.CSV file is smaller in
size than a *.PST file, and can easily be sent attached to an email message,
if someone wanted to share contact information.
"johnnie2130,
You can create a Comma Separated Value (*.CSV) file, for each contact
folder, in each mail profile you have in MS Outlook on the PC. Which can be
imported into several mail programs address book/contact folders. Now some
of the MS Outlook fields may not be able to import into these programs, or
you may need to rename or remap the fields to correspond with fields of the
new mail program."
I did mention in the last paragraph, that using a *.CSV file for backup
and/or transfer of information:
"...This is addition to "the" transfer process used when moving Outlook Data
(*.PST) files..."
I would not personally reference that web page, since it does say you can
use the
Import/Export Wizard feature for both importing and exporting contents of a
*.PST file. Unless you would state to use the "Restore manually" method, not
the Import/Export Wizard method.

Quoted from web page:
Import pst-file
Restore through the Import and Export Wizard
1.. Choose File-> Import and Export…
2.. Choose Import from another program or file
3.. Choose Personal Folder File (.pst)
4.. Browse to the location where you’ve restored the pst file (D:\My
Documents\My Outlook\Temp)
5.. Set the options to "Include subfolders" and "Import items into the
same folder in:" and select the folder that is listed as your Outlook Today
folder set in the dropdown list
6.. Press Finish to complete the import
7.. Restart Outlook and remove the export.pst file from the Temp directory
if desired
Restore manually
1.. Choose File-> Open-> Outlook Data File…
2.. Browse to the location where you’ve restored the pst file (D:\My
Documents\My Outlook\Temp)
3.. You’ll now see an additional set of folders added to your folder list
which you can expand. Expand the list and select the Inbox folder
4.. In this folder select the messages you want to restore to the original
Inbox folder
5.. Drag & drop them to the default Inbox folder
6.. Do the same for the Contacts folder. You might want to set your view
to a list view so you can easily select and move the items. To change the
view choose View-> Arrange By-> Category
7.. Now that the importing is complete, right click the pst-file added in
step 2 and choose Disconnect
8.. Restart Outlook and remove the export.pst file from the Temp directory
if desired

Rich,
Thank you for the detailed reply. This is what I was looking for.
Rich/rerat is incorrect. You never move data from one Outlook to another
using export/import because you WILL lose data. See this:
