exporting contacts from Outlook to Outlook express

Does anyone know why I would get error messages trying to
export my pst. file of contacts from Outlook (XP) to
Outlook express? My cable company (Roadrunner) tells me
that with them I have to use outlook express and cannot
use Outlook.

First, Roadrunner is wrong. You can use Outlook with RR just as easily as
OE.
You cannot export from Outlook directly to OE. To export your Contacts to
OE, you must export to a file format that OE can import. CSV works the best
for most users.
