exporting entourage groups

I'm attempting to export a subset of my contacts that are categorized
under a christmas group list. Entourage won't let me export just
those contacts, and when I export to .txt, the groups aren't exported.

Any thoughts? I've seen some entries talking about applescripts, but
I'm not comfortable getting into that without some further
information. Relatively new to MAC so I'm not very advanced in my
capabilities.

There is a way, just not a direct way. :)

Writing and using scripts are two separate animals. Don't be afraid to use
scripts. They will greatly enhance your use and management of Entourage.I
did a series of articles on using AppleScripts with Entourage for newbies. I
didn't discuss (yet) how to copy scripts. Basically you copy and paste into
the Script Editor. Click on the Compile button to be sure the formatting is
correct, then save. Entourage scripts go into the Script Menu Items folder
inside the Microsoft User Data folder in Documents.
