Exporting from Project

Misty

Hello,

I need to export all the data in my MSP plan to excel format.

I have done this by 'save as' etc, however, by doing this i am unable to
esaily identify which are summary and sub tasks and it only displays the
first line in the notes field.

Is there a way i can export the data to Excel without losing the format/note
data?

Many thanks in advance

Misty,
Well yes, but it requires a VBA macro to get everything you want. The
best approach is of course a single custom macro that does it all.
However, you can use the following two macro approach.

To get the hierarchy, go to fellow MVP, Jack Dahlgren's website at,
http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm, and take a look at his macro
"export hierarchy to Excel".

To get the notes field, I have a freeware macro that does that. To get
my macro, contact me at the address below. I will ask some questions.

If the text string in your notes does not exceed 1024 characters, then
you could modify Jack's code to include the Notes field. If your notes
text string does exceed 1024 characters, then you will need my
non-freeware macro.
