Exporting, importing contacts

I recently installed XP-Pro on a customer's computer as a second
operating system. He dual boots 98s SE (on C drive) and XP (on D).
He uses Outlook and hot syncs his email with it.
He already had a problem in the 98 installation in that all his contacts
were located in a "second" contact list.
We need to import those contacts into the new XP installation.
I don't have a clue....
Can someone help?

Well you're the consultant getting paid here. At least provide accurate
information so we can give you free advice.
Clarify the problems on Win 98 and what you mean by "second Contact list."
Provide Outlook versions. They are relevant. OS is not.

OK. Both versions are Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625)
The problem is that she has two contact lists showing as options in her
address book. I have no idea why. That was before my time.

Just remove the invalid one here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change.

OK... then what's the procedure to transfer it to the other
installation?

The file you need to transfer is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's
where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
