Exporting lists from IE

Hello, I often export search results from websites into Excel. The problem I'm having is when I export a list the has a column of numbers that is 15 digits (on line view) long. When I export into Excel, the number comes back as an exponential (1.000099E +14). I know this is happening because when you open Excel, the columns are formatted as 'General.' Is there any way I can setup my Excel to open formatted as 'Number' with '0 decimal places?' I personally don't think it is possible, but I'd like to confirm with the Excel Experts here. Thanks in advance.

Unless you have to use the #'s as #'s you would be better off having them
formatted as Text not numbers
Save file to be imported as .txt and then you can designate what each columns
format will be
