Exporting MS Project tasks to MS Outlook

Rasmus

I am using MS project 2003 Professional and MS Outlook with MS Exchange
server, and I want to export tasks from MS Project to MS Outlook so that I
can send tasks to team members. Preferably I would like the tasks to be
updated by the team members by importing the tasks back again to MS Project,
but that is secondary.
To send images or attach the entire Project file is not good enough.
Can anyone tell me how I can do this, if it is a feature included in MS
Project or if I need some additional application/server.

This ability is part of Project Server. Prior to P2003 there was something
called the Workgroup tools that allowed you to use Outlook and Exchange as
you wish but it is no longer supported in P2003, Server being the offically
preferred solution. It is still available however. Go the the MS Support
Knowledge Base and search for information on the project workgroup tools.
There's a registry change required to enable the toolbar and there's an
Outlook add-in you need to download and install on your and the resource's
workstations. I've got the article number somewhere but not handy at the
moment. If you can't find it on your own, give us another holler and I'll
track it down for you.
