Exporting OneNote to Word

L

Larry Hughes

I recently upgraded to SP1 so I could take advantage of the feature that
would allow for exporting OneNote content to Word. I had a screen shot image
that I had cut and pasted with a notation added with the pen, as well as a
small text box.
When these three items exported into the Word document, they showed up as
three
distinct blurbs/pieces in Word, rather than overlapping like they were
originally in
OneNote? Is there some way to transfer the content from OneNote to a Word
document to make it WYSIWYG?

The only way to have WYSIWYG paste between OneNote and Word is to paste as
picture (special paste in Word). The picture isn't editable or searchable of
course :(

The reason for this is that Word doesn't support 2D layout the way OneNote
does and linearizes the content OneNote publishes to Clipboard. If you just
want to share the content with someone to read you could publish the pages
from OneNote as MHT - the positioning would be preserved (when viewed with IE
or other browser).
