Exporting pictures from iphoto

Eileen

I'm trying to export a photo from iphoto into a word document. But
every time I try to insert the picture into my doc. in Word I get this
error message. This application cannot open this file. This file is an
unsupported graphic format or maybe damaged. Try opening the graphic in
another application.
I know I've done this before and never had a problem.
Can anyone help me please!

It could be a matter of file format... Especially if your camera is set to
capture images using RAW. When you Export the image make sure you select
JPG, TIFF or PNG from the Format: dropdown.

What "kind" of photo? :)

"Photos" are contained in "files". We need to know what kind of FILE you
are trying to use. There are more than a hundred different ways of encoding
the information that comprises a picture into a computer file. Word and
iPhoto can handle only some of them.

FWIW, dragging a jpg across from where it's displayed in an iPhoto 6 library
to an open Word 2004 document works just fine for me (OS 10.4.3).
