Laurio107

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have narrated my powerpoint slideshow and want to export the entire presentation, including the narration, to video. I went under file and clicked
"Save as Movie"

This created a movie of my slideshow. The slides the correct timing in the movie but they do NOT have narration. My computer is not muted.

How can I overcome this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

I am having the exact same problem. I called microsoft for mac support but they said it would be a $49.95 charge for them to look into my problem because of the license type. Maybe you could try calling them in hopes you have a different license type than me. Their number is 866-474-4882. If you get this fixed I would appreciate knowing how!

Thanks and good luck!

Hi,

You have to record an independent sound track (Audacity, which is free,
is great for this purpose), or when you make your sound track in
PowerPoint make it linked and keep track of where the file is.

When you use File > Make Movie in PowerPoint, click the Options button.
Under Media Settings > Background Track change the setting from None and
it will let you select your audio track from wherever you saved it.

Hi Jim,

Is this the only solution to the problem that narration or recorded voice cannot be heard when a powerpoint presentation is saved as a movie? It worked in the previous version.

Hi,

Unfortunately, PowerPoint 2008 works this way. You are correct that it
was better in earlier versions. Use Help > Send feedback to let
Microsoft know that their change caused a problem for you and that you
would like them to restore or even improve how this works.
