Exporting the results of a query to Excel

I have a query in Access 97 that I use to export data into
an Excel worksheet (Using the Save as/Export function on
the File menu). The problem I have is that sometimes
instead of overwriting the existing worksheet (as I want
it to) a new worksheet is created similar to the first one
but with a slightly different number. This seem sto happen
after I have made a change in the spreadsheet itself and
then saved it. Unfortunately I have not been able to
ascertain what change I have made. Please help as this is
causing me a lot of ANGST.
