Exporting the Task Notes field

I've used the Notes field of a Task to store a detailed information relating
to the task. I've got reports that I can print that show the Tasks & Notes
based on selection criteria.

The problem I've got is that when I export using Save As & attach a map, the
Notes field is truncated at the first carriage return.

Does anyone know how I can export the full text of the Notes fields?

Ian,
There are actually several ways to "export" the Notes field. One method
is as simple as copy and paste but that isn't very convenient if you
have a lot of notes text to export. Another method, the one I use, is an
export using a VBA macro. My macros export the Notes field to Excel. The
Notes field can also be queried directly from the Project database.

If you are interested in the macro approach, contact me direct. If you
are interested in the query method, take a look at the Project database
structure document. Search for the projdb.htm (Project 2000) or pjdb.htm
(Project 2003) file on your hard drive.

Hope this helps.

Same question as many others, although I have been attempting to retrieve
the Notes data through a query of the TEXT_VALUE field and still only get
the first line. The Macro would be appreciated as well as any guidance on
the Query.

Kind regards

Lain,
I'm sorry I can't be of further help with a query. I have never done a
query - I only know where the Project database information is located.
However, I can help you with the macro I mentioned. Write me direct for
more information.
