exporting v-card

When I export a contact that is open to a v-card the details section of the
contact is lost.
I can not export any contact to a v-card and have it contain text in the
details field.

What version of Outlook are you using? I just checked with OL2003 and the
memo field was saved in the vCard.

Vince:

I am using Outlook 2003.
I have checked for any options in all of the settings as to or not to
export/import the details field when importing/exporting to and from a v-card
and I can't find any.

If you add a field to the end of the vCard file using NotePad does it show
up in the Detail field? The field should look something like this:

NOTE;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Memo Text here=0D=0AMore text=0D=0AEven
more=0D=0A

Vince:
I opened the v-card with note pad and the notes field is after the title
field and it does contain the correct text.
I opened the v-card with the address book and the notes field is on the
other tab.
I can double click the v-card I just made to the desk top and let Outlook
open it and the notes field is blank.
I have had other people that I have sent v-cards to tell me the notes field
is blank when they open it also.

PMJI, but have you applied the latest Office 2003 service pack? Early versions of Outlook 2003 would not show the notes from a vCard .vcf file.

I have automatic updates turned on and I have checked to see if I have the
current updates.
I will check again.
There were no bullitens listed when I did a search for "v-card", "import"
and "export".

I had all of the updates that I could get from Window's update. I went to
Office update and got serv. Pk. 2 and another update.

My issue is resolved.

The issue of why the office update was not applied through Window's update
is not.

You might want to go to the Windows Update page and enroll in Microsoft Update. This is a new service that will deliver both Windows and Office updates.
