Exporting Visio 2003 Pro. data to Excel 2000

What I am trying to do is Export data about my shapes (that were originally
generated in Visio 2002) into Excell 2000 and have not been able to do so by
following the "About exporting data to databases" guidlines from Visio's
help. Don't know if I need Excel 2003 in order to make this work or not, any
sugestions ?
