exporting

Help tells me to select "Appointment Items" in the "Folder contains" list, as I want to export contacts to another program. "Appointment Items" does not exist in the pull down box.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're reading the Help section for creating a new Outlook
folder, rather than exporting to a file. What steps have you already tried,
and what are you trying to accomplish, exactly?
