I'm trying out the new Access 2002 features allowing export
to XML, the most powerful of which seems to be the
ExportXML Visual Basic function. I am having problems however.
I can export xml just fine and I can even get a schema file
to be produced but the feature I'm really interested in,
generating what they call a "ReportML" document, doesn't
seem to be functioning.
I have at least two conficting sets of documentation
describing how to use this feature and neither seems to be
working for me. One says to set the OtherFlags parameter to
16 the other says to set it to 32. I've tried both and I've
even tried adding them (since this is a bit mask value) but
neither worked.
Has anyone out there used this feature of this function
before and gotten it to work? If so, how did you do it?
My real concern is generating documentation for the
structure of a database (dependance of forms on tables,
queries and other forms). The built in ReportML generating
feature seemed like a much faster and easier way of doing
it than examing and taking notes but if it won't function
properly I will need to look into other methods. Any help
in this area would also be appreciated.
